 Control Panel LEDs.

LEDs for control panel applications.  Six different color combinations: Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Warm White, and Bi-color Red/Green.  These LEDs require a 3.2 VDC regulated supply offered on Power Supplies page and power 50 LEDs or more.  Each LED comes on its own printed circuit board with two 3" lead wires.  The black wire is common or negative, and the other wire color corresponds to the LED color.  The bi-color LED has two colored wires for the Red or Green indication.  A sample of LEDs in a control panel is shown above.  Four color LED boards are shown below.

These LEDs are 2 mm in diameter and fit snugly in a 5/64" hole.  Why five and a bi-color?  This allows for one color per transformer control with an extra one for occupancy or other application.  By way of example, in the control panel above, Red is Main Line.  Green is the Secondary Line.  Yellow is for Yard power, and Blue is special.   When the section of track may be powered by more than one transformer, the LED indicates which is currently connected.  The lower right red LED is bi-color.  If you look closely on the siding directly above this LED you will see two holes;  the right hand one is currently green, when the switch is thrown the green goes off and a Yellow LED in the hole just to the right of the switch goes on.  Center is off for this switch.  While this is only one way to use LED indicators on your control panel, there are many options for their use...come up with your own!  Take a look at the instruction manual in column to left.

LED Lighting Kit for Buildings

All LEDs are high brightness warm white.  The kit contains five (5) LEDs mounted on PC boards and 12" of leadin wire plus a variable 1.5 Amp power supply.  The supply is a 3.3 VDC supply standard requiring 5-22 volt (AC or DC) accessory voltage.  This supply will support up to 50 LEDs (more in some cases).  The power supply has variable output to facilitate full illumination for industrial applications, or lower levels for residences, etc.  A second supply may be used for a second level.  Add-on LED packages available as shown at left.  Fixed 3.3 VDC supply is available for $12 that may be used for full brightness applications such as industrial buildings.

Sample Installation.  The building below is an MTH house with the bright bulbs removed.  The first photo is with ambient light in train room.  Second photo is with a darkened room and lower brightness level.  Both pitctures use three LEDs in the house.  More photos are in the instruction sheet at upper left.
