GGD Streamline Car LED conversions available.
The photos below show examples of what can be done with a little imagination and desire. If you see something you like, let us know! A package for each car is available to meet your desires. Many of the examples are focused for a specific application and are made up as needed! Scroll down for various applications!
Various examples are shown below.
Kits to support Bi-Level (true two level),
vista dome (standard and full-length), RailKing passenger cars,
and anything else that comes up can be supported!
GGD PRR Heavyweight Platform Car - Added rear marker lights, platform lighting, variable lighting interior (compartment different than parlor area), vestibule light and aisle lighting. Total of 14 LEDs replace the original 4 LEDs. On board power supplies provide separable brightness levels to three different areas! Customer was very impressed! Yep I have done the GGD streamliners too!
Original rear end before on left and after on right. People added too!
The location of the marker lights is prototypical for PRR.

Side Views showing left end brighter than compartments at right...this was intentional!
New ability is to add lights that automatically turn on/off via timer.
Now if I can just get the passengers to move around!!

Above shows other side with subdued lighting in aisle...note the person looking out!
After creating this kit I found another method to better light aisles!!

GGD Platform Car with amber
Vestibule LED lighting
GGD 80' Coach
Special 14" board with 7 LEDs added to each vestibule! Price $24 or $29 with vestibule LEDs (amber or warm white).
Vestibule LED lighting added to the standard passenger car LED boar for + $5 pre-installed! Streamlined coaches typically only have one vestibule or
+$2.50 per board (but you gotta tell me which end!)
Also, newer version available with 7 interior LEDs plus vestibule LEDs.

GGD Combine & RPO Cars.
A short LED board is used with an on-board driver to power the amber LEDs in the vestibule (at right) and baggage compartment (light reflects off floor)! No light in bathroom behind right-most window (darkened) - guess someone turned off the light and left the door closed! The passenger compartment LEDs are set brighter than usual, but this setting is independent of the two other LEDs. Different effects, some minor are achieved with LED selection! Price for this combination is found above left. For RPO applications specify when ordering!

Baggage Car Lighting
MTH provides a full length light board with the Premier line...and only two bulbs!? Royz Trains has two options to provide constant brightness LED lighting. More than half my customers upgrade to the LED lighting for the baggage car. Many go for the warm white LEDs used in the passenger area. Some want the more realistic look of amber LEDs, especially in the Heavyweights. The two following photos show what the difference looks like.
The Southern Pacific with its reddish color plastic addes some color
to the warm white LEDs used here.

The PRR baggage car above uses the Amber LEDs and
the silver interior plastic adds little to the effect.
Either option is available at the same cost!

MTH Premier Vista Dome Before and After
The first photo shows the before shot with the hot spots and no light in the vista dome. This photo was taken with track voltage at 18 VAC.

Before Look @ 18 Volts track voltage
This next photo shows the lighting with RoyzTrains Vista Dome LED Kit. The brightness in the vista dome and lower level restrooms may be separately controlled from the general passenger area. The light is more even and constant with track voltage greater than 9 VAC. And, no more flicker!

Santa Fe Vista Dome after conversion. Note primary difference in color from above is the color of the plastic seat insert. RailKing/15" passenger car version available upon request. Upper and lower light levels shown as same, but can be different!

Santa Fe Full Length Vista Dome after conversion. The dark area at each end of the lower passenger section is blocked by the lower seat insert panel. RailKing/15" passenger car version available upon request.

MTH RK extruded aluminum UP Vista dome converted. Individual LEDs just visible below the dome roof.

MTH Premier Streamlined Observation car (& Other Manufacturers)
As originally supplied by MTH, this car used only the interior bulbs to indirectly light the clear rear lens. Standard 14" board used and red LED inserted into original clear lens. Marker lights may be illuminated also. As shown, price of $25.50 and does require some careful drilling into the rear of the lens. A kit to support rear light, marker lights with connector also available and uses Passenger LED Board w/Bus board. If you want the drumhead lite by warm white LED add $2. Total to achieve the next lower LED lit streamline car is $39.50. All three modifications require drilling and careful positioning of the LEDs to create the desired effect. Royz Trains offers installation of these kits for those interested.

A kit is available for the RailKing version of the above car, but not for the lower implementation. This kits comes with LEDs for the marker lights and drumhead. Note that this kit requires careful drilling to achieve a 5/64" hole in the marker lights, some painting, and gluing. RoyzTrains offers installation for additional fee. Full conversion is shown below.
